【Step 1: Prepare the surface to be constructed】
First of all, it is necessary to ensure that the construction surface is clean, dry and free of loose substances:
i) If there are stains, wipe with a mild detergent.
ii) If the old paint film becomes loose, use a paint spatula to remove it thoroughly.
iii) If there is rust or loose old paint film, use a wire brush to remove it.
iv) If there are nail holes or unevenness, use Nippon Paint Odour-less Wall Putty to fill in and smooth it.
v) If there is mildew, it needs to be thoroughly removed with Nippon Paint Anti-fungus Solution.
** Please apply in sunny and dry weather. Paint should not be applied in wet weather (relative humidity higher than 85%), which will affect the quality of the paint film.
** Keep indoor air circulation during construction and keep away from fire.
【Step 2: Prepare construction tools and protective clothing. 】
That is, Nippon Paint 9 inch Good Quality Roller, Nippon Paint Adhesive Tape, Nippon Paint Masker Tape ; also remember to prepare a bucket, ladder, newspaper, paint spatula, clean cloth, mask, gloves and Apron etc.
i) You can use old newspapers or Nippon Paint Adhesive Tape/Nippon Paint Masker Tape to cover furniture, floors, doors and windows, anchor lines, etc., to avoid contamination.
ii) Before construction, please wear protective clothing such as masks, gloves, hats, etc.
【Step 3: Apply 1 coat of primer first, then 2 top coats】
When you are ready, you can start painting!
i) Use a small Nippon Paint - 1" Silky Brush to paint the door and window sides, and then use the Nippon Paint 9 inch Good Quality Roller for large-scale construction.
ii) Apply 1-2 coats of primer with Nippon Paint 9 inch Good Quality Roller. It is recommended to start with the ceiling, then the wall, in the order of top-down.
** After applying the first layer of primer, please wait for 2-3 hours until it is completely dry, then you can apply the second layer of primer/start to apply the topcoat.
ii) Then apply 2 coats of top coat. (Note: For brighter colors, 3 to 4 coats may be required.)
Use a bucket to pour the amount of topcoat you need, and then add 10-20% (depending on the actual construction situation), not more than 30% of the water to dilute. Then start painting the top coat on the surface of the room that needs to be constructed.
** If you use brush: You can refer to the 1:08-1:18 method in the movie.
** If you use Roller: You can refer to the 1:19-1:35 technique in the movie.
** After applying the first top coat, wait for 2-3 hours to dry before applying the second top coat.
iii) Finally, before the second/last top coat is completely dry, slowly remove the Nippon Paint Adhesive Tape used to protect doors, windows, and footings to reduce the chance of tearing off together with the paint film and keep it beautiful.
Cleaning tools:
After painting, please wash the tools immediately with clean water; the undiluted paint can be sealed and stored in a cool and dry place (0-35℃) for future repair.
*** Soft Reminder ***
Remember not to pour leftover paint into the drain casually, as this will cause environmental pollution. If it is necessary to dispose of it, it is recommended that you pour the leftover paint on the old newspaper and dispose of it after it has dried.
