The tradition of brewing Zoller-Hof beers in Sigmaringen on the river Danube dates back almost 170 years. The family run brewery today is as committed to the German brewing traditions as it was then. The quality of the range of beers is based on the craftsmanship and experience and the traditional principles of the art of German brewing. Brewing in harmony with nature is therefore the central guiding principle of the company, which is reflected in the unique and natural personality of the beers.

The traditional fermentation and a 6-weeks maturing process in ice cold tanks is the big difference between our beers and the industrially produced beers who in general mature beer only for 2-4 weeks.

We are participating for over twenty years in the quality-competition of the German Agriculture Organization (Deutsche Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft - DLG). The award of the best in Gold ('Preis der Besten in Gold') is proof for our continuous and outstanding quality performance year after year. Whilst the DLG awards the analytical quality, the International Taste & Quality Institute in Brussels (iTQi) awards the taste of beers. Here, European chefs and sommeliers test the submitted beers and award stars.

For all Zoller-Hof beers only the finest aroma and bitter hops from the South of Germany in Hallertau and Tettnang on Lake of Constance are being used, which rank among the highest classified hops available. No hop extract is used in order to meet the highest quality expectations in terms of aroma and bouquet. The philosophy of being in balance with nature and the ambition to minimize the brewery's carbon foot print is exemplified by the use of fresh water from the brewery's own well and the 100% reliance on energy produced by hydro-electric power for its production and bottling operations.
