Picking of Seaweed
Seaweed is collected from coastal areas and grown in seaweed nets during winter and spring. Therefore, crustaceans such as bird feathers, straw fragments, and small shrimps may be mixed in when seaweed is collected. There may even be paint chips mixed in, as well as small metal flakes from boats and other vessels.
Irrelevant objects in food are always a matter of great concern. Generally speaking, Irrelevant objects have two meanings: one refers to things that have nothing to do with food, such as metal pieces or bird feathers, which may cause harm to the body when eaten; another one refers to the object that are originally part of food, eating them can cause discomfort to the body (such as bones, scales, and hard skin). The former is more likely to requires special attention.
Although we know that it is very difficult to be 100% free of irrelevant object, Fukui Co., Ltd. has accumulated so many years of production and processing experience, and has introduced and set up a variety of machines with different functions for foreign matter sorting and inspection, while also retaining manual inspection and screening. , the entire process has reduced the chance of containing foreign matter to a very low level.
